Cookie Policy

PeerAbroad keeps its use of cookies and browser storage deliberately small. This page lists the technologies the site currently uses.

What are cookies and browser storage?

Cookies are small values a website can ask your browser to send back with later requests. Browser storage, such as local storage, lets a site remember information on your device without sending it automatically with every request. Similar technologies can remember choices or support analytics.

Necessary technologies and preferences

These technologies support security, remember choices you ask PeerAbroad to remember, and record your privacy preference. They are not used for advertising and remain available when you reject non-essential technologies.

Optional Analytics

If you select โ€œAccept allโ€ or enable Analytics in Cookie settings, PeerAbroad loads Vercel Web Analytics. It helps us understand page visits and improve the site. The integration records page-view information such as the page path and application route. PeerAbroad does not use it for advertising and does not send custom user-profile events.

Provider: Vercel. The PeerAbroad code does not identify a Vercel Analytics browser cookie or storage key, so no browser-storage duration is listed for it. Analytics remains off unless your saved choice allows it.

How to manage your choice

  • Accept all enables the available optional Analytics category.
  • Reject non-essential leaves Analytics disabled without affecting normal PeerAbroad features.
  • Manage preferences lets you switch Analytics on or off before saving.

You can reopen the same controls at any time using โ€œCookie settingsโ€ in the footer. You can also clear PeerAbroad site data in your browser; the banner will then appear again. Blocking all browser storage in browser settings may prevent PeerAbroad from remembering your language, currency, theme or consent choice.

Other services used after you ask for them

Loops is contacted when you join the mailing list, or when you provide an email with a suggestion and separately opt in to updates and exchange tips. DeepL is contacted when review text is sent for translation. Supabase stores submitted reviews, suggestions and optional review photos. These services are not optional analytics technologies loaded merely because you visit a page; they are explained in the Privacy Policy.
